Interview: Lalah Hathaway, Center Stage album debut

Ms. Hathaway, a two time Grammy winner, was born in Chicago into a musical family. Her father recorded legendary songs like “Someday We’ll All Be Free” and “This Christmas” and for “Where Is Love” and “The Closer I Get To You,” collaborations with Roberta Flack.

Ms. Hathaway’s new live album is her 7th and marks her 25th anniversary in show business. She says the hardest part of being an entertainer is “the industry of it,” and adds,” music for me is not work. I am an avid music listener and it brings me joy to take my music live on the road.”
